Lovewell Foundation is dedicated to empowering women by providing safety, independence, and opportunities to rebuild their lives. Focused on supporting women from vulnerable backgrounds, Lovewell offers a nurturing community where women are encouraged to grow.
“We believe in standing with women who are ready to create a better life for themselves. At Lovewell, we offer a safe space where they are respected and empowered to take control of their futures.”
Annie Stonehouse, Executive Director.
Through its social enterprise, Lovewell Café, at the top of Mt Gravatt Lookout, the Foundation provides women with employment, training, and the skills needed to regain confidence and independence.
“Our café offers hands-on experience in a supportive environment. In the last year alone, we’ve employed 84 women at the café and supported over 200 through our Foundation programs."
Lovewell continues to expand, providing more opportunities for women to break free from the barriers that prevent them from finding mainstream employment.
With a SilverChef Community Grant valued at $5,000 AUD, Lovewell Café was able to make crucial improvements to its kitchen and FOH areas, allowing them to expand their catering services and events to grow their social enterprise.
“The grant has helped us streamline kitchen operations, which has been vital as we handle more private events and bookings,” says Annie.
These improvements have enabled Lovewell to offer more employment opportunities and specialist training to the women they support.
“The demand for our catering services and events held at our venue with beautiful views of Brisbane, has grown significantly. These enhancements allow us to increase our capacity, offer better services, and ultimately employ more women who are rebuilding their lives,” adds Annie.
With the support of the grant, Lovewell Café continues to make a lasting impact, helping women gain skills, find employment, and shape their futures.
