When I started at SilverChef it was a month before the ‘Yes’ vote, the plebiscite in Australia. The company offered so much support, printing out ‘Yes’ shirts and celebrating with us. For me, as a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I would clean toilets for a company like this.

SilverChef is a great place to develop, both personally and professionally. One example is our six-month Leadership Development program, open to aspiring leaders right across the business. We support our people to explore career pathways, including promotions, international relocations, and secondments.
Before working at SilverChef, I had never held a managerial position. After eight months within the business I was promoted. Since that time, I have been fortunate enough to move across into a Team Leader position. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given here, and the confidence and trust people have put in me.

Our people are encouraged to make use of flexible working arrangements that suit their role and lifestyle. This can include working part-time, working remotely, taking study leave or a career break, purchasing additional leave —just to name a few options. We provide financial wellbeing education, support for returning parents and much more.
When I returned to work after having my daughter, I remember fretting whether I’d have a safe place to pump, a quiet room with a lock, and somewhere to store my milk. There was no need to worry because SilverChef made sure I had everything I needed set up and ready to go.

For over 21 years, we’ve partnered with Opportunity International Australia to lift people out of poverty around the world. Since 2015 SilverChef has been a proud, Certified B Corp, meeting the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Plus, each of our people receives two days paid volunteering leave a year.
